About Indo-German Collaboration
TU Braunschweig, Germany and BITS Pilani are in the tenth year of successful collaboration. During this time various projects on green manufacturing; automotive life cycle engineering, plastic recycling, and learning factory have been sponsored by DAAD, Volkswagen, FESTO, AKB Stiftung. Funding of more than INR 5 crore has been provided by the German organizations. This collaboration has provided opportunities to more than 60 students/researchers to visit each other and work in intercultural teams and experience the living in a different culture. This collaboration enables students, researchers and faculty to see different challenges in sustainable engineering from different perspectives. The collaboration works on the motto ‘global challenge of sustainable engineering needs a global community.’ Every alternate year Indo-German workshop is being conducted so that researchers can share their latest research, network and collaborate.
